BEST: The log walk was the best because if you completed it you felt a sense of accomplishment

WORST: There were no diving boards

The reason you felt a sense of accomplishment once completing the log walk was because when you walked across it the logs would move to the other side of the holding rope and would tip. That made it hard to do!

It's like an indoor water park. The funnest thing was the lazy river 'cause it would move you around. The way I went around was with the tube around my tummy. Then my head couldn't get wet!

I also went up on the water playground. I didn't try the logs and, even though they had a hot tub, nobody wanted to go in with me.

BEST: the mine replica rooms as well as the train foyer room because they were soooo interesting.

WORST: Frost Mineral Room because it was boring.

You've got to go there because there are so many interesting things to do!

Worst Thing: the loud noises in the twisty coal mine


You gotta go there because I bet the girls would like the crystal room and they would like all the jewelry in the gift shop!

After going to the museum--go eat at the Golden Burro cafe. The mini burgers were fun to eat!

BEST: Seeing how much of the things we consider antiques were considered state-of-the-art when Margaret (Molly) Brown was alive.

WORST: Not being able to touch or use anything.

The Molly Brown House is over 100 years old.

The computer trivia games were kind of interesting.

Most Interesting Thing: the skinny hallway [stairs] down to the kitchen

The servants used their elbows against the walls to balance when they were

carrying things up or down.

The Saddest Thing: the killed polar bear rug

They had THREE Christmas trees. One was for the grownups to show off when visitors came. Upstairs was a tree for the kids and they decorated it with things they made. The last tree was small, for the servants. It was decorated with candy and cookies.

**Every girl should go see the HATS because they were so beautiful. Some of them had peacock feathers. One of them had butterflies and flowers. And one was white with zebra stripes on a bow.**

BEST: the train station replica because it was interesting to see the way things used to work.

WORST: everything other than the bests were worsts!!

The Fick Museum had some interesting points in it, such as the paintings that were in it used lots of fossil material in them. [The pictures above were actually made with tiny bits of naturally colored stones found in the area. There were also many paintings which included fossils found by the artist as part of the picture; for example, tiny vertibrae were used as tree trunks.]

The Best Thing about this museum: Stand in Annie Oakley

You can make faces when you do this but your mom might take your picture!

The Most Boring Thing: I don't know!

You can also see deer and buffalo heads. You could see a really big buffalo that was furry (and you could pet him).

See all the fossils and the art. The big fish was the coolest.

I liked the train station, too. At the train station my favorite thing was the thing you send messages with [telegraph] cuz I liked that you could say things with clicks!

Definitely bring your family here!

It was kind of boring watching the baseball game.

But there was an air show nearby and we could watch the planes fly really FAST and sometimes do tricks and that was really neat!

The Best Thing to See was: Mythical Creatures
It was all about Mermaids and Unicorns and Dragons!

The Most Boring was: Egyptians and also Travelling Through the Pacific
There weren't things to DO in those places and I didn't care about it.

Definitely take your kids to this museum if you are in Chicago!
